We are feeling all of the local love this season, and we encourage you to make a trip to Downtown Douglas. This is a hidden gem that we just can't keep a secret anymore! Check out our inviting and well curated shops, where you'll find the attention and care these folks put into their crafts top tier. With that being said, we love having our furry friends in office most days, and we are so lucky to have Lakeshore Pet Boutique down the street to spoil our beloved pet family members. When the humans get hungry, head next door for the greatest breakfast on Center Street at Happystance! Their new menu is mouthwatering, and the staff, friendly and attentive. Follow your fancies over to Endora Bohemian for that stylish person in your life and wares from around the globe! Just next door to that, you will find Kim Neuens' Design for even more handcrafted and locally created pieces! Now may be time to pamper yourself a bit at L Salon and Boutique. If you need a break, and a little pick me up, or possibly a treat for later, head over to Respite Cappuccino Court where the home made cakes are unforgettable. Now, you probably still have some shopping energy left, so skip, hop, or stride next door to Mr. Miller's Art Emporium for some unique local art and handmade creations.

We are guessing that you may still have some friends and family to find a unique gift for, so head over to Ruth Crowe Artist Studio, and select a work of art with a story. Ruth is a featured AND awarded artist at this year's Art Prize in Grand Rapids, which is known around the world. Finally, we reach the dinner hour, where the locals go to see and be seen, Every Day People Cafe also known as "EPC," is where it's at for a dinner you'll never forget. Our office supports all of these local businesses, and we have many items from these shops on display, come check them out, and gather some ideas!

Originally hailing from Grand Haven, MI, I have always had a deep connection to this community. After attending the University of Tampa in Florida, I decided to return to my roots and establish my business here in Douglas. This area holds a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve its residents.

Outside of the office, my world revolves around my eight-year-old daughters, eleven and fourteen-year-old boys, and my husband who is also in the insurance industry. We adore our two poodle mixes,, two bunnies, a frog, and a beta fish! Family is everything to me, and I cherish every moment spent with them. In my free time, you'll likely find me enjoying the beauty of Frederick Meijer Gardens, exploring the picturesque beaches, or indulging in my passion for scuba diving. I also have a deep appreciation for classical music, which brings me peace and inspiration.

Community involvement is a core value that I hold dear. As a board member of the Douglas Downtown Development Authority (DDA), I am committed to contributing to the growth and prosperity of this vibrant community.
